Michael Allen Short, 68, of Richwood, TX passed away on Wednesday 11, 2020. He was born to Albert and Wynonah ("Pete") in Woodville, TX on March 24, 1952. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Palms Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. Mike volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corp after high school, and did 2 tours in Vietnam. Upon returning, he learned heavy equipment operations, but music was his passion. He was singer/songwriter/ composer/comedian. He loved entertaining in and around the Houston Opry Circuit. Michael is survived by his wife of 20 years Fran Short, stepson Darryl Searcy of the home, 1 son Travis Short of Arkansas, 1 daughter Cassandra Stark of Angleton, 2 grandsons Nick Short of Arkansas, and Dalton Allen Cook of Angleton, 1 sister Tana Wilson of LaPorte 2 brothers James Short of LaPorte, and Gary Short of Arkansas, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
