Miguel Marquez III., 60, of Angleton, a loving father, devoted husband, and retired Sargent from the Texas Department of Corrections, passed away on October 21, 2023, in Angleton, TX at the age of 60.
Born on January 11, 1963, in Galveston, TX, Miguel was the beloved son of Virginia Marquez and Miguel Marquez, II. He grew up in a close-knit family, cherishing the values of hard work, compassion, and loyalty. Miguel's dedication to his family and community was evident throughout his life, leaving a lasting impact on all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Miguel dedicated many years of his life to serving and protecting others as a Sargent in the Texas Department of Corrections. His commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of his fellow citizens was unwavering. He demonstrated not only his professionalism, but also his empathy and understanding towards those he encountered.
Outside of his professional life, Miguel was an adoring husband to his wife, Lucia Rodriguez, and a devoted father to Miguel Marquez IV, Christian A. Marquez, Miya Z. Marquez and Alex Sosa III. Also, left to cherish Miguel’s memory is Sister Louisa Marquez and nephews Jacob Slaughter , Danny and wife Ali Slaughter, sister Elizabeth Negrini, brother in law Anthony Negrini and niece Talia and husband Allen West, All the Rodriguez Family, DIL Stephanie Sharp, DIL Jessica Ruiz.
His family brought him immeasurable joy and love, and he always put them first. Miguel's presence will be deeply missed, but his love and guidance will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.
Miguel was preceded in death by: GF Miguel Marquez Sr., GM Guadalupe Baigen, GF Juan Baigen, GM Antonia Marquez, and Father Miguel Marquez II.
The Mass to honor Miguel's life will be held on Friday morning, October 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Khoi Le presiding. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Thursday evening, October 26, 2023, starting at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home. Friends, family, and community members are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
Miguel will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his unwavering commitment to justice, and his compassionate nature. As he is laid to rest, his legacy will live on, serving as a reminder of the impact one person can make in the lives of those around them.
In accordance with his wishes, Miguel will be cremated at a later date.
