Mildred Elizabeth (Towers) Fulbright was born on October 19, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to William and Mildred Towers. She died on Saturday, October 15 in Angleton, Texas just short of her 90th birthday. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Myron (Hank) Fulbright and her parents. After high school graduation, Millie worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. Hank was enlisted in the navy during World War II and his ship was stationed for a time in Philadelphia. They met one evening at a USO dance and Hank would eventually get her to come to Texas. His job at Dow Chemical would bring them to settle in Angleton and Millie found work as a Dow key punch operator in what would eventually become the computer services department. She would leave the work force as her children arrived, but later worked for Climate Heating and Air. Millie loved to crochet and made numerous afghans for family and friends. She was a member of the 2nd Tuesday bridge club and was famous for her lemon meringue pie. Her favorite vacation spot was to sit on the porch at a rented beach house at Surfside Beach. Millie belonged to the First United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Rock Sunday School class. She is survived by her son, Bob (June) Fulbright and daughter, Sondra (Gary) Jones. Mildred had 4 grandchildren, Stephen (Amelia) Jones, Misty (Donnie) Yarbrough, Laura (Brent) Maddux, and Elizabeth Jones. She had 6 great-grandsons, Donald Yarbrough lll, Michael Jones, Caleb Jones, Samuel Jones, Bryce Maddux, and Finn Maddux. She is also survived by her sister, Doris White, a nephew, Jimmy White, a niece, Susan (John) Cook, a brother-in-law, James (Charlene) Fulbright, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Mildred also shared a special friendship with Ima Jean Smith who was her hairdresser for 53 years.
