Milton Ray Goodson Jr.

December 19, 1932 — July 13, 2012

Milton was born December 19, 1932 in a small community hospital in Angleton to Era Mae and Milton Goodson, Sr. He quietly passed away at his home on July 13, 2012. Milton was born into a family of five boys and 8 girls. He attended Angleton High School where he graduated. After school he entered the Army during the Korean Conflict. During this time he was stationed at Fort Bliss, El Paso and became an artillery instructor. When discharged from the Army he returned to Angleton where he met the love of his life, Leta Mae Teague. They married in January of 1955 and began a family in Angleton. Milton began working for the Brazoria County Road and Bridge department when discharged from the Army. Over the years he and Leta raised five children in Angleton. His interests included hunting, bar-b-queuing, chewing tobacco and telling a good story. He was the happiest when he was in the woods spending time with his family or telling tall tales to anyone he came across. Milton retired from the county after 39 years of employment and spent his remaining years in the family home on Walker Street. In his later years he was known for traveling around his neighborhood in the "gator" and selling wood. Both of these gave him the opportunity for telling his tall tales. Milton is survived by his children, Debbie Goodson of Angleton, Dana Decker and husband, Kevin of Odessa, Nancy Bacak and husband, Mark of Lake Jackson, Milton "Bubba" Goodson and wife, Pam of Angleton and Linda Brumfield and husband, Marty of Angleton. He enjoyed teasing his 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Leta, his grandson Brent Smith and parents, Milton and Era Goodson.
