Myrtle Mae 'Mae-Mae' Freeland

Myrtle (Mae Mae) Freeland, a longtime resident of Danbury, Texas, passed from this life on Saturday, September 12, 2015, in Angleton, Texas, while surrounded by family. Mae was born to Tunis and Myrtle Hoffpauir Freeland on October 10, 1929. Mae graduated from Danbury High School in 1948 and worked for Southwestern Bell until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Day Lily Club in Lake Jackson and enjoyed traveling. She loved hosting Christmas Eve gatherings and an annual family reunion. Mae is survived by her brother, Johnny Freeland and wife, Patti. She is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Dorothy Kuchar and Margaret Penry, and her brothers, James Freeland and Tunis Freeland, Jr. The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Cypress Woods Care Center and A-Med Hospice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 1:00pm - 2:00pm, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas, with service immediately following at 2:00pm, with Pastor Bonnie Cowing officiating. Interment will follow at Danbury Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Penry, Richard Penry, Rodney Kuchar, Scott Jackson, Donald Meaux, Rody Kuchar, Wayne Miller, Miles Hobdy, and Donnie Belote.
