Neldeen Virginia Bradford

A beautiful woman died Thursday, Neldeen Virginia Bradford (Deanie). She died peacefully at home in Angleton, Texas, July 28, 2017. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 1st, from 5-7 P.M. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 2nd, 10 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Angleton, followed by graveside services. Following the graveside service, fellowship will be held on church grounds. Deanie was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Nita Marie and Sydney Premeaux on December 21, 1933. When she was 14 years-old they relocated to Freeport, Texas were Deanie attended middle and high school. In 1955, she earned her B.A. Nursing Degree from the Lillie Jolly School of Nursing in Houston. A few months later, friends and family gathered in the backyard to witness her marriage to James Walter Bradford Jr. on August 28, 1955. Everyone remembers how hot it was, and no one can forget the partnership they created that day lasting more than 60 years. Deanie worked as a nurse, at the Dow Hospital, and continued working as a nurse until 1965 when her fourth child was born. From then on she devoted herself to the children, running the house and helping her husband with his law practice. Deanie had a lively group of friends who enjoyed playing bridge. She spent many hours in her garden and kept a beautiful yard. She and her best friend, Betty Bieri had several business ventures through out the years from house plants to jewelry. Together they helped spread beauty all over Brazoria County. Deanie is preceded in death by mother, Nita Romero Melancon, her father, Sidney Premeaux, her 2 brothers, Ray Premeaux and Andrew Melancon, and her sister, Lee Premeaux. Deanie Bradford is survived by her husband James Walter Bradford Jr., four children and their partners, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews respectively: Bridgett Bradford Norris, Johnny Ray and family; Wendy Bradford Castaneda, Jesse and family; James Walter Bradford III (Bodie), Jody and family; Sydney Bradford Anderson, Kirk and family. Pallbearers will be James Powell Jr., Christopher Castaneda, Dillion Bradford, Derrick Dees, Darrin Dees, Robert Bryce Stewart III, and Preston Anderson.
