Norval "Gene" Eugene Goforth

Norval Eugene Goforth passed peacefully from this earth surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 6:47 in the evening in Lake Jackson, Texas at the age of 82 years of age. Gene as we all knew him, was born on February 14, 1941, in Yale, Oklahoma to Norval E. Goforth and Annabelle Cable Goforth. He graduated from Yale High School and entered the U.S. Army. While he was stationed in Texas, he met his wife and Mother of his children, Lucy Waters. Together they had four children. Gene went to work for the Dow Chemical Company and retired from there after 31 years of service.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Tammy Brooks and husband Philip who was always considered a son; Lisa Espey all of Angleton, Tx. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Alison Brooks (Lee), Ashley Brooks (Johnny), Krystal Brooks (Joe) all of Angleton, Texas. Kourtney Chavez (Javi) of Denver, Colorado, Jennifer Criswell (John), Sarah Edwards (Dustin), Brooke Ryan (Bubba) all of West Columbia, Texas, Jacob Espey of Angleton, Texas and Rhonda Espey (Guillermo) of Frederick, Maryland. Fourteen great grandchildren, Gavin Rios (Liz), Jocelyn Rios, Brooklyn Ochoa, Johnny Valenzuela, Kamryn Oritz, Landon Ortiz, Taylor Criswell, Payton Criswell, Lexey Kloecker, Avery Kloecker, Kason Edwards, Railey Ryan, William Ryan and Sayde Espey. One great - great granddaughter, Leilani Rios. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Wayne Goforth (Brenda) and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, his best friend Raymond Roman and his beloved dog, Bella.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, sister, children Kevin Eugene Goforth and Deborah Ann Goforth and the mother of his children Lucy.
