Ollie Beth Douglas

January 20, 1933 — August 15, 2021

Ollie Beth Douglas left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on August 15, 2021. Ollie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Ollie was born and raised in Angleton, Texas. She was a nurse, but all the grandkids thought she was a doctor. If they got sick, they insisted on going to Grannie's to find out what was wrong. Ollie married James Douglas, on June 10, 1971. They shared in a beautiful marriage for 50 wonderful years. Ollie loved her church, Life Foursquare, in Angleton, Texas. She was especially close to her pastor, Cere, and his wife, Ann. Cere claimed Ollie as his adoptive mother. She was assured through her faith in her savior, Jesus Christ, of her destination, from this life to her eternal life. Ollie and James' lives revolved around the love of their family and helping those in need. Ollie loved crafts and her beloved husband made sure she had plenty of handmade wooden projects for fundraisers and family reunions. They shared a beautiful life together and always did everything together. Ollie loved her family and shared her wisdom and love with each and every one of us. Ollie is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Holt and Mary Beth Thompson; brothers, H.L Holt and Watt "Tooter" Holt; sister, Addie Jane Rogers, Joyce Blessing, Barbra Collard, and Bonnie Taylor; brothers in law, Jimmy Rogers, John Blessing, and Les Taylor; sisters in law, Paula Clark and Reg Whearley; stepsons, Cliff Douglas and Jay Douglas; nephews, Mark Rogers and Tony Morgan; niece, Cathy Ann; and mother and father in law, Robert and Blanche Douglas. Left to cherish Ollie's memory are her loving husband, James Douglas; children, Mary Ferbes, Sherry Lantrip, Clyde Beaty, Kathey Whearley, Jami Chesser (Dale), and Kendall Douglas; grandchildren, Jason Lantrip, Brooke and Zach Barfuss, Jeffrey Warren, Adam and Jenn Haynes, Kourtney Myers, Hunter and Laura Whearley, Tyler Chesser, Jordan Chesser and Drayton Chesser; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. At this time all services will be private. A memorial service will be held in the near future for everyone to celebrate Ollie's life. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmsfuneralhome.com. Service Details. Family and friends are coming together online to create a special keepsake. Every memory left on the online obituary will be automatically included in this book. View Tribute Book
