Patsy Gail Stroud

Patsy Gail Jenkins Stroud went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2022. She went peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. Patsy was born January 1, 1932, in Princeton, Texas, to Thomas Elzie Jenkins and Bertie Mabel Guinn Jenkins. She attended school in Celina, Texas and graduated at the age of sixteen as the valedictorian of her class. Patsy married the love of her life, Judge Leslie Stroud, on February 15, 1949 in Sherman, Texas. They moved to Freeport in 1952 where Judge began a thirty year career at Dow Chemical. Later that year, they moved to Angleton where they raised their family. Patsy was a homemaker and was always busy sewing, crocheting, and doing needle point and cross-stitching. She was an exceptional cook, and the family always seemed to grow in number at mealtime. Patsy played a large role in raising her grand children to whom she was known as Mema. She taught them Christian principles and the value of hard work and dedicated effort. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Thomas Vernon Jenkins and his wife Clara Lee, brother Harold Ray Jenkins and his wife Lora Mae, sister Sarah Blanch Burk and her husband Joe Alfred Burk, son-in-law Neil Skach, and daughter-in-law Penni Hunt Stroud. Patsy is survived by son, Leslie Stroud (Denise Ann), their daughter Sarah Wicke (Matthew), their son John Stroud; son Terry Stroud (Denise Marie) and their daughter Lisa Knight (Sheldon); son Eddie Stroud (Karen), their daughter Angela Stroud, their son Clint Stroud (Lauren); daughter Brenda Skach, her daughter Amber Crabb, her son James Skach (Lesa), her son Daniel Skach; son Randy Stroud, his daughter Laura Stroud, and his sons David Stroud, Tim Stroud (Savannah), Adam Stroud (Stephanie) and Sam Stroud (Katherine). She has 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will have a visitation at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton at 1:30 on Saturday, January 15, 2022. Due to Covid considerations, there will only be a grave-side service at 3:00 on Saturday at Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons James Skach, Daniel Skach, Clint Stroud, David Stroud, Tim Stroud, Adam Stroud, and Sam Stroud.
