Phillip Wayne Irwin Sr.

Phillip Wayne Irwin, Sr., 60, passed away September 15, 2015 in Sugarland, Texas. He was born in Sweetwater, Texas on October 16, 1954 to Rudy & Joy (Walz) Irwin. He was a lifetime resident of Brazoria County and a member of Brazos Pointe Church. His family will remember him as a caring man who would give anything he had to anyone. Phillip was an avid golfer, and a connoisseur of fine dining. He also enjoyed visiting New Orleans for his beloved jazz music. Phillip was known as a big kid at heart with a funny sense of humor who lived life to its fullest. He worked for the Dow Chemical Company for 40 years in Polyurethanes Research. Known as Phil to friends and Uncle Phil to relatives he truly loved his family and doted on his granddaughter Sasha. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laurie Webb. Left to cherish his memory are his parents; Rudy & Joy Irwin, his only son P.J. Irwin and his wife Kelli, His brother, Scott Irwin and his wife Jaqi, his brother-in-law, Danny Webb and his granddaughter, Sasha Irwin. Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 18, 2015 with Pastor Gregg Pickering officiating. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers or potted plants the family is asking that you donate to a cancer charity in Phillip's name.
