Ramona Luna

August 31, 1923 — October 26, 2017

On October 26, 2017 the good Lord called Ramona M. Luna home, where she was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Ramona, was given the gift of life on August 31, 1923. She was born in Mathis, Texas and in her early childhood years moved to Angleton where she met her sweetheart Phillip Luna, Sr. and they married in 1939. She was a devout Catholic and in her younger years she was very instrumental along with several Hispanic Community members, in pioneering the very first Catholic Church, ST. Thomas Aquinas. She was a member of the Guadalupana Society and continued her membership at Most Holy Trinity once it began services. Ramona lived life to its fullest and though she never learned to drive, you would have a hard time finding her at home, due to the endless family and friends willing to chauffer her to where ever her heart desired. The K.C. Bingos, visiting those who were ill, saying the rosary, volunteering at the Church Resale Shop, Church fundraisers, and of course dancing on Saturday nights. She is survived by her sons, Phillip and wife Agnes, Jim and wife Belinda, and daughters Esther and husband Rudy Gonzalez, and Carmen and husband Milo Gutierrez. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband Phillip Luna Sr., son Emilio Luna, grandson Juan P. Rubio, twin great granddaughters Jazlyn and Jasmin Garnica and 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Pallbearers are Derrick Jones, Alex Rubio Jr., Emilio Luna Jr., Gabriel Luna, Santiago Luna, and Ryan Luna. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Luna and Larry Luna. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, October 31st at 10:30 a.m. with Father Victor Perez to officiate. All services will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton.
