Raymond "Peanut" Leo Bell, Sr.

April 6, 1948 — November 23, 2023

Raymond Leo “Peanut” Bell, Sr., 75, of Rosharon, Texas sadly suffered a massive heart attack and passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023 surrounded by his wife and children. Raymond was born to Mary Elizabeth and James Dewitt Bell, Sr., on April 6, 1948 in Freeport, Texas.


He graduated from high school in 1967 and joined the U.S. Army on February 16, 1969 where he served for 5 years and fought in the Vietnam War. He was discharged from the service on April 1, 1974 as a Rank E4. He married his beautiful wife Susan on June 4, 1979 and they had 2 beautiful children, Brandy and Raymond Jr.


He is preceded in death by his parents Mary and James Dewitt Bell, brother David, sister Beverly, sister and brother-in-law Debra and Jimmy Tullous, brother-in-law Gerald Staggs, brother-in-law Donald Lackey, parents in law Charles Corsentino and Dorothy and Earl Bradford.


He is survived by his loving wife of 44-1/2 years, Susan Bell of Rosharon, daughter Brandy Bell (Mario) of Houston, son Raymond L. Bell Jr (Michelle) of Rosharon, grandchildren Quentin Bass (Victoria) of Angleton, Blake Bass (Peighton) of Pearland, Raymond L. Bell III “Bubba” of Fredericksburg, VA, Brookalyn Bell, Landon Brown, and Titan Bell of Rosharon, and great grandchildren Aidyn and Jaxon Bass of Angleton. He was also looking forward to the coming birth of his newest granddaughter in April 2024. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Staggs of Franklin, TX, brother Dewitt Bell (Janice) of Rockport, TX, and sister Frances Lackey of Dale, TX as well as a host of nieces and nephews.


The family would like to thank Dayna and Lacy of Transitions Home Health and Shana and Crissy of Elite Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and support in his last few months. The family would also like to thank Officers Courtney Moerbe and Garrick Hicks of the Iowa Colony Police Department for their quick response.


Visitation to be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10 a.m. with Memorial service to follow performed by Chris Boykins at 11 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 East Mulberry, Angleton, TX 77515. (979) 849-4343.
