Rex Elton Holcombe, age 61, of Angleton, Texas passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023 after a battle with heart disease and complications from diabetes.
Rex was born on June 15, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas, and was adopted at the age of one week by James and Ann Holcombe. He graduated from Angleton High School in 1981. He worked for Holcombe Motors and McIntyre Flying Service until he decided to train to be a heavy haul over-the-road truck driver. He had the opportunity to drive to every state in the Continental United States except Alaska. He made many friends throughout his years of truck driving. He loved being with people, and he never met a stranger.
Rex was predeceased by his parents, James and Ann Holcombe. He is survived by his sister Debbie Johnson (husband Andy), and his aunt JoNell Johnson. He was "Uncle Rex" to Bradley Stanaland (wife Joy), Ryan Stanaland (girlfriend, Hope) and Hillary Britton (husband, Zach). He was PawPaw to Olivia Ochoa and Phillip Ochoa. He will be missed by his loved ones and the many friends he had.
Visitation will be held at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas, on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Services will be held at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2 p.m. with a brief graveside service to follow at Angleton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rex's memory to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
