Rexford Comal 'Rex' Bailey Jr.

Rex Bailey, Jr. Rex Bailey, Jr., rice farmer and rancher, passed away on March 9, 2013 at the age of 85. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 219 N Arcola St, Angleton, Texas with Pastor Bob Sinclair officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E Mulberry St, Angleton, Texas. Rex was born on November 24, 1927 in Bay City, Texas to Rex and Della Harvey Bailey. He was a 3rd generation rice farmer and was raised in Manvel and Rosharon. Rex graduated from Angleton High School in 1945 then attended Southwest Texas State University before returning home to Rosharon to help run the family farm after his father became ill. Rex married Dolly V. Davis on November 27, 1948. Rex was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Orville Mehl. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Bailey; son, Rex Bailey, III and wife, Antonina; daughter, Juli Mitchell and husband Gary; grandchildren: Lori Buhner and husband, John; Janis Crumpton and husband, David; Tom Bailey and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren: Braedyn Rex Bailey and John Evan Buhner. Pallbearers will be Tom Bailey, John Buhner, David Crumpton, Randy Kulhanek, Jason Sanders, and Leslie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Wilhite, Tom Ferguson, and the coffee drinkers at the Hometown Cafe in Angleton, Texas.
