Ricardo Ramirez Delgado, Sr., 83, of Clute, passed away on February 19, 2024, in Galveston. He was born on February 14, 1941, in Los Fresnos, Texas.


He married Juanita Delgado on April 2, 2007 in Nicaragua.


Ricardo enjoyed life. He loved being a welder, spending the entire day outside whether it was taking care of his home and yard or just being creative building something. He loved to barbecue. He liked telling stories about his life growing up, and all the places he visited. He found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life.


Ricardo was preceded in death by his father Emilio and mother Maria; son Michael Delgado; and son John Leeroy Delgado.


Left to remember him is his wife, Juanita Delgado, his children, and their spouses: Ricardo Delgado, Jr., Abel A. Delgado, and Suzanna Delgado Lopez.


Siblings: Brothers Emilio Delgado and Noel Garcia; Sisters Juanita Sosa and Maria Delgado Ramirez.


Grandchildren: Stacey M. Swacker, Cynthia I. Delgado, Priscilla Cervantes, Erica Lopez, and AJ Lopez


Great grandchildren: Michael Delgado, Brooklynn Swacker, Ivan Cervantes, Lathon Swacker, Taryn Swacker, Mia Cervantes, Jay Cervantes, and CJ Eli Delgado Howell


And numerous other family members and friends.


A Memorial Service will be held on March 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
