Richard Lee '"Rick"' Gonzales

"Rick" Richard Lee Gonzales went to be with our Lord on October 17, 2012 at the young age of 51. Rick was born to Jose and Alberta Gonzales, Sr. on July 8, 1961 and was a lifelong resident of Angleton, TX. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Roberta; his daughter Tiffany Damian (Danny, Jr.) and son Jason Bowen. He is also survived by his parents Jose and Alberta Gonzales, Sr.; brothers Joe Gonzales, Jr, Clem Gonzales (Sylvia), and Gary Gonzales (Linda); sisters Josephine Gonzales; Esther Garcia (Lupe); and Becky Gonzales (Dora). Rick was blessed with four grandchildren: Isaiah Lee Gonzales; Richard Perez III (Tre Tre); Cameron J Perez and Sibylla Perez and numerous nephews and nieces. A 1980 graduate of Angleton High School Rick played guard and kicker for the Angleton Wildcats and continued to loyally attend Wildcats games after graduation. In addition, Rick played on the Angleton Indians, Angleton Rangers, and Angleton Cubs baseball teams. Rick was an avid sports fan and was known for his support of the Angleton Wildcats, THE UNIVERSITY of Texas Longhorns, and America's Team: The Dallas Cowboys! "How ‘bout dem Cowboys!" could be heard from miles away while he watched his ‘Boys". Friends will remember Rick's devotion to his friends and ensuring that he was there for them when they needed him. One to greet you with a firm handshake and a hug, Rick felt he was blessed to have so many friends…and his friends feel blessed to call Rick a friend. Rick was a hard working individual who believed in the value of being and doing the best on the job. He worked for Intermedics for 15 years, and was currently employed at T.I.C contractors (11 years) as a maintenance foreman. Visitation hours will be Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Most Holy Trinity Church in Angleton, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00pm. Funeral mass will be at 10:00am Monday, October 22, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Church of Angleton. Burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Longoria, Joe Serbantez, Manny Rodriguez, Troy Grounds, Juan Arias, Joe Salazar, and Lee Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Prosser, Rick Segura, Vincent Perez, Jay Trevino, Ted Marin, Matthew Bermea, Trinidad Garza, John Gonzalez, Everitt Grounds, Joshua Grounds, Jamy Adams, Kevin Gonzales, and Chris Garcia.
