Richard Montgomery 'Dickie' Willy Sr.

Richard Willy, Sr. of Stratton Ridge (Angleton) passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at the age of 95 years at Brazosport Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Services will be held at Palms Funeral Home on Friday, May 25, 2012 with Mike O'Neil of the First Presbyterian Church of Angleton and Reg Wherley of Cool Water Cowboy Church officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Palms Funeral Home. Richard Willy was the youngest of eight children of Eleanor Thomas Willy and Richard M. Willy. He was born in Angleton and attended school in Angleton. He met the love of his life, Lola Jane Hoskins, and married her on October 7, 1939. The loving couple had enjoyed 72 wonderful years of marriage. Richard was raised in Angleton and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In his early years he loved to rodeo and was good at roping. He retired from Dow Chemical after 35 years of service at the Plant A Fire Department. He loved life and loved to make people laugh. Dickie is survived by his loving wife, Lola, his children, Richard M Willy, Jr., John Willy and wife Beth, Judy Willy Bielstein and husband Tom and Jeff Willy. Grandchildren, Monte Willy & wife Pam, Dan Willy & wife Paula, Jonathan Willy & wife Gracie, Elizabeth Ann Willy, Richard Allen Rhodes & wife Jerrilynn, Amy Willy Knight & husband, Jeremy. Great Grandchildren; Rebecca, Taylor, Bella, Brittany, Kayla & Richard Allen, Jr. and many nieces, nephews and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed, George & Allen Willy and sisters Maggie Mathews, Daisy Smith, Alice Bower & Katie Savoy as well as daughters in law, Sue Willy and Gayle Willy. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Pallbearers will be Monte Willy, Dan Willy, Jonathan Willy, Richard Allen Rhodes, Mike Clement & Bryan Hoskins. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to The First Presbyterian Church of Angleton or The Cool Water Cowboy Church, 203 CR 84, Angleton, Texas or a charity of choice.
