Richard Franklin Pugh, of Danbury Texas passed away on November 13, 2024, in Angleton, Texas at the age of 62. He was a passionate video game enthusiast, model car assembler, and dedicated 18-wheeler driver who shared his love for trucking with his wife, Josie Pugh. Their journey together on the road began fondly, becoming "love at 1st gear" as she learned the ropes from him.
During his lifetime, Richard enjoyed the thrill of visiting casinos and indulging in their delectable food. Many years were spent traversing the country in his 18-wheeler, creating lasting memories with Josie by his side. On July 24, 1994, Richard and Maria exchanged vows in Bay City, Texas, solidifying their loving bond.
He was a devoted father to his children and a cherished Po-Po to his grandchildren.
Graveside services and ceremonies to honor the life of Richard Franklin Pugh are scheduled for 10:00 am at Danbury Cemetery with Pastor Pete Lopez officiating on Friday, November 22, 2024.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Josie, his children: Andrew Pugh (Brittnay), James Pugh (Michelle), and Franklin Pugh. Richard is also survived by his grandchildren: Lexi Pugh, James “Jr” Pugh, Valarie Pugh, Cheyenne Pugh, Landon Pugh, Emma Pugh and Justin Brown, along with several great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sisters; Betty Von Braun and Johnnie Raper.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Ruth (Franklin) Pugh, and his brother, Jesse D. Pugh.
