Robert Wayne Allen

It is in deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Wayne Allen, age 85, who left us April 19, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born on March 28, 1940, he led a life marked with hard work and dedication. He served in the Navy from March 28, 1957 to August 22, 1969. Entering the military on his 17th birthday. He was a veteran of Peacetime and the Vietnam Era. He served on the USS Jason in Vung Tau Harbor. From there he went on to the USS Liberty and USS Hector. He served as a welder and pipefitter.

Robert carved out a respectable career in the tree service industry, proudly serving Brazosport Tree Service, a business in which he and his wife Joyce proudly owned and operated.

Robert is survived by his children: son, Robert Allen (wife Pam), Janet Edson (husband Martin), Tina Allen, Crystal Horton and Karesa Flud (husband Keith); sister Peggy Stork; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce (Roberts) Allen, his parents Robert & Thelma (Davis) Allen, and his son David Allen.

In this time of grief, we remember Robert not only for his hard work but for the love, laughter and all the stories he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed but always remembered.

The family will hold a memorial service in honor of Robert’s life on May 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Palms Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Olivier.
