Robert Lee "Bobby" Krenek

September 14, 1941 — September 16, 2023

Robert “Bobby” Lee Krenek, better known as “Peepaw,” went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2023 at the age of 82. He was born September 15, 1941 in Bryan, Texas to Frank and Josephine Krenek. He moved to Brazoria County with his parents and siblings in 1952.

Peepaw graduated from Angleton High School in 1959 and was drafted into the Airforce during Vietman as a medic. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for Dow Chemical until his retirement in 1996.

Shortly after retiring, his life would change forever. He would marry Mary Jo Audas and inherit her family. He would gain two sons and a daughter and right from the beginning, he treated them like his own. From these three, he would eventually have eight grandchildren. He traveled many miles, across many counties to pick them up for the weekend or to watch them at a sporting event. Peepaw never missed anything his grandchildren were involved in whether it was a rodeo, softball game, motocross race, marching band performance, dance recital or livestock show, he was there. Yet prior to all of this, he was a devoted uncle to his two nieces, Cheryl Johnson and Teresa Pelt, that he was extremely proud of and loved dearly.

Peepaw never turned down the opportunity for a road trip. From South Dakota to Columbus, Ohio, and all over Texas, he was the best copilot. He loved watching the Angelton Wildcats football and area softball teams. He especially loved the Texas A&M Aggies and was so proud when three of his grandchildren decided to attend the university. Nothing made him happier or prouder than his grandchildren.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Josephine Krenek, brother Ronnie Krenek, and sister-in-law Francis Krenek.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jo Krenek, sons Bobby Audas and wife Joyce, Jeff Audas and wife Melissa, and daughter Linda Leopold and husband Chance; grandchildren Conner Audas, Madi Morgan and husband Mike, Cole Audas, Lee Audas, Gracey Leopold, Chase Audas, Mackenzie Audas, and Zoe Audas; his brothers Frank Krenek and Donnie Krenek and wife Diane; nieces Cheryl Johnson and husband Kevin, and Teresa Pelt and husband Randy, and his great nieces and nephew, Alyssa and Kierstyn Pelt and Kane Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Central Assembly of God Church in Angelton, Texas at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Perpetual Care Angelton Cemetary. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church until service time.

Pallbearers are Conner, Cole, Chase and Lee Audas, Michael Morgan and Kane Johnson.

Bobby “Peepaw” Krenek will truly be missed by many but will never be forgotten.
