Robert "Willie" Ross

September 3, 1949 — December 19, 2021

Robert "Willie" Ross was born on September 3, 1949 in Clarinda Iowa to Fred and Shirley Ross and died December 19, 2021 in Houston Texas. He graduated from Villisca High school in 1967. He was a Vietnam War veteran that proudly served his country. Willie had a full life and had many adventures. He created memories and friendships that still continue to this day. Willie could walk in to any town, any place, anywhere and there was no doubt someone knew him. He was a Mason, Shriner, brother, dad, husband, pawpaw, and friend. His one regret is that he wasn't able to travel more with Tanya. He had plans to take her to all the great places in America she had yet to see. Willie loved to be Santa. Even in the summer when he was out and about small children were drawn to his twinkling blue eyes, jolly belly, and rosy cheeks. They would let Santa know they had been very good. He was also an avid Harley rider and musician. So much so that he gave his time as a musician and security for the Johnson City Pig Roast every year to help raise money for a Cherokee Children's Home so they could have Christmas gifts every year. Willie is survived by his wife Tanya, children Patricia Burr (Eddie); Troy Ross (Kristie) Trent Ross (Michelle), Elly Stoaks, and Justin Ross. Brothers and sisters Terry Ross (Cindy), Diane Manuel (Terry), and Cyndi Chamberlin. Grandchildren Jacob Burr, Garrett Ross, Kahner Stoaks, Ashle Holmes (Cliff), Paige Tranbarger (Remington) and Emma Ross. And 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Shirley, Brothers Larry, Gary, Marty, brother-in-law Garry Flynn and second wife Barbara Ross. Services are pending.
