Ronald Douglas "Ronnie" Strother

September 12, 1946 — January 9, 2022

Ronald "Ronnie" Douglas Strother was born to this life on September 12, 1946 and entered eternal life on January 9, 2022 at the age of 75. Ronnie was born, raised, and lived in Angleton, Tx. Throughout his life as a heavy equipment operator, Ronnie traveled to many places all over the US and Virgin Islands. He enjoyed sharing some of those stories with loved ones and friends. Although his battle with cancer was short, his fight was mighty. He was able to enjoy one more Christmas and New Year's spent with family and friends with the blessing of three additional weeks. His time on earth will forever be cherished by many, who we hope will strive to honor him by slowing down enough to enjoy life! Ronnie enjoyed a simple life and found pleasure in music, throwing washers, playing cards, and working around his house. Friends and family often enjoyed the fruits of his labor in gifts of bags full of pecans that he had gathered and hulled from his yard. He is best known for his guitar playing and singing with friends. He had dreams of panning for gold in Alaska one more time something he had experienced in his travels. Ronnie is left to be remembered by daughter Linda (Kevin) Hubbard, son Jacob (Ann) Strother, son Vincent Strother as well as ex-wife Alice Strother. Ronnie also leaves behind grandchildren Nicholas, Connor, Lauren, Megan Hubbard, as well as Haydin, Sarabeth, Carder, Emma, and Ella Strother. He is also remembered by sisters Betty Chaney, Sharon Hensley, and Darlene Jordan, as well as brothers Melvin (Barbara) Treesh, Walker Treesh, Lanny Parish, Billy Strother, Kenneth Strother, Michael Strother, Richard Strother, Donnie Strother and many other family and friends. Ronnie is preceded in death by mom Erma Merrell, dad Crocket Strother, grandson Bradley Hubbard, sisters Judy Goodrum, Sandy Miller, Loretta Guidry, and brother Leroy Strother.
