Ronnie Gray Fuqua, 53, of Angleton, TX, was called home by the Lord on January 13, 2019, in Lake Jackson, TX. He was born March 30, 1965, in Birmingham, AL, to Leora Taylor and Ronald Fuqua. He married Vickie Pyle on March 14, 1991, where they resided in Angleton for the entirety of their blessed marriage. Ronnie Gray was a devoted and loving husband, who also loved his children, Amanda Green, Joshua Green, and Katie Cadenhead, and grandchildren, Phoenix Lusk and Eliza Gray Cadenhead. Ronnie lived in Birmingham until the age of 13, when he moved to Angleton and met his future bride, Vickie Pyle, at Angleton Junior High. He graduated from Angleton High School in 1983. He went on to Stephen F. Austin to major in "partying" for one whole semester before joining the United States Air Force. He spent a year of his service stationed in Iceland which he greatly enjoyed. After serving in the USAF for four years and then six years in the Texas Air Force National Guard, he began his career at Dow Chemical in Freeport, TX, where he retired in November 2017 as the Operations Leader in Site Pipeline Operations and Infrastructure, after spending 26 years with Dow Chemical. Ronnie graduated from the University of Houston in 2005 with a BBA in Operations Management. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending as much time as he could on beautiful beaches with his family. He was proud to be a certified deep-sea diver, rugby player, Freemason, and die-hard Alabama fan. His most recent joy in life was being "Pops" to his precious "Baby E." Ronnie Gray lived his life finding the humor in every situation with a contagious laughter. Ronnie passed away peacefully and quietly surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Vickie Pyle Fuqua, of Angleton; his daughter Amanda Green of CA and grandson Phoenix Lusk; his son, Joshua Green, of Angleton; his daughter Katie Cadenhead and her husband Reece and granddaughter Eliza Gray of Angleton; siblings, Slade Fuqua, Misty Mercado and Brandy Fuqua; nephews, Ryan and Brandon "Big B" Newton and many other friends and family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille "Granny" and Cliff Taylor, Shirley Campbell, and Elijah Gray "Duke" and Helen Fuqua. A memorial celebration of Ronnie Gray's life will be held Thursday, January 17th, at 6:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, TX. The family will hold a visitation prior to the memorial beginning at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County. Roll Tide! Service Details.
