Rose Anne Hancock

Rose Anne Kohutek Hancock met her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2014 after a long courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Rose was born on June 8, 1963 in Beeville, Texas to the late Charlie & Florence Kohutek. Rose spent her pre-school years in Beeville, Texas until the family moved to El Campo. Rose attended St. Philip's Catholic School and graduated from El Campo High School. She furthered her education by receiving an associate of arts degree at Wharton County Junior College and a Bachelor of Science in Education at Texas State University. In 1995, she earned her elementary certification for teaching grades 1-6. Rose was an excellent and inspiring teacher. She was very dedicated to her students and enjoyed teaching very much. Rose taught at El Campo Junior High, League City Intermediate & Angleton Middle School. Her last teaching position was teaching 4th grade at Westside Elementary until she was forced to medically retire in 2012. Rose taught for a total of 26 years. Survivors include her husband John, of Damon. Sister, Janet Gay Gajewsky and her husband Gary of Lane City, Mary Easley and her husband Dan of Houston. Brothers, David Kohutek and his wife JoLynn of Leander, Ted Kohutek and his wife Jaime of Bandera, Bill Kohutek and his wife Kelly of Angleton and Alan Kohutek and his wife Mandy of San Antonio. Rosie is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Sarah Easley, Cody Kohutek, Ricky and Chris Gajewsky, Randy and Kimberly Kohutek, Stacey Kohutek and Kaysie Oden, Nathan and Carlina Kohutek, Kristen Menchaca and Vanessa Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard (Dicky) and Charles Jeffrey Kohutek and nephew Hunter Kohutek. Visitation will be from 5-7 on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas Memorial services will be held at 11:00 Friday, March 7, 2014 at Brazos Bend Baptist Church, 22311 FM 762 Rd, Needville, TX 77461 In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made in Rose's name to the ALS Association-Texas Chapter 8600 Wurzbach Rd # 700 San Antonio, Texas 78240 Provide comfort for the family by planting a tree in memory of Rose Anne Hancock (Kohutek), please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
