Rose 'Sue' Taft

Rose "Sue" Taft, loving wife of Earl Austin Taft, CPA, and devoted mother and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013, assisted in her transition by her husband, son Mike Taft and daughter Earlene Wright. She was a model wife, and quintessential mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She suffered a stroke on Thursday morning, taken to at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston via life-flight. She subsequently suffered a heart attack that evening. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, George and Estelle Nelson of Victoria, and brothers: David, Alvin and Jaydel Nelson. She is survived by her husband of 49 1/3 years, Earl Austin Taft of Angleton, son, Michael Taft of Danbury, daughters, Michelle Grantz of San Jacinto, CA and Earlene Wright of Angleton, grandchildren, Brittany Baker, Candice and Christopher Fisher, Kourtney and Bradley Wright, Ashley, Emilee and Marissa Taft of Brazoria County, and Aimee Mitchell of Katy, and great-grandchildren, Austin Taft and Braelynn Fisher of Brazoria County. Living siblings include Dorothy Gibson of Lake Charles, Georga King, Cora Hammack and Don Nelson of Victoria, Jack Nelson of Indiana, and Ruby Santee of Arizona. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, from 4-6 pm at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1713 N Tinsley, Angleton, followed by a Wake Service at 6 led by Rev. Maurice Restivo, Pastor, and Rosary led by the Angleton Knights of Columbus. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 AM in the church, followed by lunch in St Basil's Hall. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Houston, several days following the funeral, as scheduled by the VA. Pallbearers: Christopher Fisher, Bradley Wright, Stewart Roye, David Francis, David Charles Francis, and Israel Cortez.
