Ruby Irene Spiller

Ruby Crow Spiller of Bryan, TX (formerly of Freeport/Oyster Creek), passed away on February 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born January 11, 1925 in Litroe, Louisiana, the youngest child of Willie Earl Crow and Katie Sehon Crow. She grew-up in Marion, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in Ruston, Louisiana before coming to Texas where she obtained her Texas Teaching Certificate and met the love of her life Harvey "Jack" Spiller. Ruby taught typing, shorthand, and clerical practice at Brazosport High School for 30+ years, retiring in 1985. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey "Jack" Spiller, her parents, and her siblings, Udine Crow, Ernestine Martin, Wesley Crow, Doyle Crow, and Murphy Crow. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Barbara Spiller Owens and husband Bob of Nacogdoches, TX, Harvey Spiller and wife Sharon of Lake Jackson, TX, Richard Spiller and wife Patty of College Station, TX, and Donna Spiller of Bryan, TX. Grandchildren, Jeff Owens of Waller, TX, Melissa Owens Judd of Nacogdoches, TX, Jason Spiller of Brazoria, TX, Traci Spiller Halstead of Pace, Florida, LeAnn Rease Bowers of Hutto, TX, Lindsey Spiller of College Station, TX, and Ashley Reece of College Station, TX, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Palms Funeral Home. Procession and burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery in Angleton.
