Ruby Lee Potts

Ruby Potts was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She passed away on August 25, 2020 in Angleton, TX at the age of 90. Ruby was born in Industry, TX (Austin County) on July 25th 1930 to Waldo Huebner and Louise Becker Huebner. She was the 3rd of 4 children who grew up working on a farm. She loved the farm life and it formed in her a very strong work ethic. Ruby married L.E. Potts on March 5, 1957 in Edinburg, TX and they had two sons, Michael Wayne Potts and Douglas Leigh Potts. The family moved to Clute in 1969 and she began working for Wacker's variety story (which later became Winn's) in Lake Jackson where she managed the fabric department and utilized her talent as a seamstress. Over the years, she made dresses for many Brazoria county residents. After her retirement in 1994, she had even more time to spend with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruby is survived by her son Michael Potts and wife Linda, son Douglas Potts and wife Susan; grandchildren Austin Potts, Jordan Potts, Christina Murphy and husband Derek, Charles Falcone and wife Jennifer, Amanda Hefner and husband Erich; great-grandsons Colton Murphy, Christopher, Caleb, and Jonathan Falcone, and Nathan and Barrett Hefner. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 29 years L.E. Potts, and her siblings: Lorene Huebner Young, James Huebner, Erna Huebner Pfeffer. The family would like to thank everyone who made it possible for Ruby to live the best life possible after her stroke in November of 2000. The list is too long to name everyone, but a few we would like to mention are Carolyn Weatherly, Dr. Alkesh Amin, and all the staff, nurses and doctors of Country Village Care in Angleton. A visitation will be held Monday, August 31st from 6-8 PM at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, TX. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 1st at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Greater Heights Fellowship, 2032 CR 220, Angleton, TX 77515 or charity of your choice. Service Details.
