Ruby Mordecai

Ruby Mordecai Ruby Mordecai, age 93, of Angleton, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, Her friends and family were by her side when she drifted off to be with the Lord. She was born January 13, 1920 in Odell, Texas, to Walter and Ora Martin. She married Grady Lee Mordecai on June 12, 1937 in Vernon, Texas and was married for 51 years. She was survived by her son David Mordecai of Cypress, Texas and one daughter Sara Lou Ann Brockman of Angleton, Texas. Also 11 grandchildren and 22 Great-grandchildren and 4 Great- great grandchildren Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Grady Lee Mordecai, two sons Billy Mordecai and Donnie Mordecai, three grandchildren Derrick Mordecai, Melody Ballew, and Steven Mordecai, two brothers Cecil Martin and Wayne Martin and one sister Opal Collins and Walter Martin (father), Ora Martin (mother). Ruby was a long time resident of Angleton, Texas where she lived since 1981 leaving her home in Houston, Texas of 30 years for retirement. She worked as a nurse for Spring Branch Hospital in Houston, Texas. She loved to quilt and enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering with Actions in Angleton, Texas. The family visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12 noon & public visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 17, 2013 at Palms Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM also at Palms Funeral Home. Pastor Rodney Bowman will be officiating. The burial will be at Angleton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Brockman, Michel Brockman, Kerry Brockman, Mason Brockman, Donnie Earl Mordecai, Timothy Mordecai, Colton Brockman, and John Charles Brockman.
