Sam 'Montana' Jennings

On August 9, 1941, a baby boy was born in Brazoria County to David McClure and Leola Lee. In his early years, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Horseshoe Lake. He is a member of New Revelation Baptist Church. He attended school at Marshall High School and graduated in 1962. He was a cowboy at heart and a member of the Southwestern Trail Ride Association. He was a rancher and also a construction worker for many years. He was known to many as "Montana". He was united in marriage to Daisy Mae Jennings on May 25, 1962. To this union, three children were born: Clevis O. Jennings, Carolette Y. Jennings and Camish T. Jennings. On January 16, 2012, Sam moved from the burdens of this world to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his father David McClure, his mother Leola Lee Hall, and his brother Willie Glenn Hall. Sam is survived by his wife Daisy Mae Jennings, three children; Clevis Jennings (Harriet) of Angleton, Carolette Jennings of Pearland and Camish Jennings (Sudan) of Houston; six grandchildren; Clevis O. Jennings Jr. of South Carolina, Cinnamon Jennings of Houston, Chelsea Jennings, Cydni Jennings and Cyrus Jennings of Angleton and Ziya Jennings of Houston; one great-grandchild, Caleb Jennings of Boling; eight brothers and sisters; Raymond Thomas of Orange, Harold Hall of Angleton, Herman Hall of Swansea, IL, Eria Hall, Lorine Higgins (Andrew), James E. Hall , Savannah Carethers all of Angleton, Ronnie Hall (Trishan) of Oceanside, CA; 14 uncles and aunts and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Burial will follow in Kelly Lake Cemetery.
