Sara Ramirez Brown was born on March 6, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas. She was raised by her maternal grandmother, Rosa Ramirez and spent her early childhood growing up in the rural southern town of Yazoo City, Mississippi. There, she developed a love for singing and listening to pop and country music. She especially loved to sing and listen to the songs of George Strait. She often joked that George was the love of her life and that she would wait forever for his loving embrace. She attended Thomas Edison High School in San Antonio, Texas. After school hours, Sara worked as a waitress at the Manhatten Cafe with her sister Nora. She earned enough money to buy her own clothes and enjoyed dressing in the modern fashions of the times. Later, she married and lived in England, then Danbury Texas where she lived for 30 years raising her children and helping bring up her grandchildren. Of the few jobs in her lifetime, Sara is best remembered for her devotion to Walmart where she worked for 28 years, mostly in the Lawn and Garden Department. Her children remember that she would sometimes bring home plants which were near death and nursed them until they revived. She was friendly and had a unique sense of humor which won over everyone who crossed her path. Sara was undeniably a valuable employee who knew the layout and location of any item stocked in the store. She was most proud of her outstanding punctuality record. Sara was so reliable that she would arrive an hour early on a daily basis and she was rarely absent. Sara's most prize possession, other than her children, was her black 2005 Super Sport Monte Carlo. She took utmost care in the maintenance of that car and fed it only Buc-ee's premium gasoline. Sara has always valued family and truth. Her efforts to connect family illustrates her belief that love and understanding are key ingredients to a fulfilled life. Sara showed such devotion to her family that she was sometimes referred to as "The Giving Tree." She will always be remembered as a speaker of truth with a warm and loving heart who was always willing to give unto others in need of a helping hand. Sara leaves behind her son, Billy Brown of West Columbia and grandson's Jacob and Christian, Michelle Brown of Danbury Texas and grandkids Desiree, Monica, Jeffery, Savannah, and Terry Lee.
