Sheryl Lynn Rodgers

Sheryl Lynn Rodgers, age 70, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 8:44 am with her husband and family by her side. She was born in Angleton, Texas, on August 26, 1948, to Marvin and Georgie Burns. She graduated from Angleton High School in 1966 and the University of Houston in 1988. Lynn, as everyone called her, worked at the Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, Texas, for 35 years. Everyone that knew Lynn described her as strong, patient, giving, and selfless. She loved her family strongly and would never hesitate to speak her mind. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Burns. She is survived by her mother, Georgie Burns, sisters Carol Jackson (David Jackson) and Judy Benge (Nathan Benge), husband Robert Rodgers, daughters Amy Lynn Goff and Katherine Rodgers, son Stephen Rodgers (Glencora Rodgers), four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The service for Lynn will be held at the First Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Lunch will follow at the church and burial will be at Phair Cemetery in Oyster Creek, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the ALS Association (alstexas.org).
