Shirley Ann Guidry, 88, of Angleton, Texas passed away peacefully at Country Village Care a Senior Living Home in Angleton, Texas, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Most knew her as Ann Guidry, Ann was born on November 17,1935 to her parents Clarence Wynne and Vivian Estelle (Grant) Martin in Van Zandt County, Texas. She married Bobby Jack Bowling and had 6 wonderful children. As a widow, she was happily re-married to Roland E. Guidry.
Ann was an accomplished Beautician with a career spanning 35 years. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, knitting, gardening and puzzles. Some in the family called her “the plant whisperer” because of her gift for growing things. In 1986 she completed certification at Brazosport College in floral design, something she enjoyed doing all her life. She was also a strong supporter of the Father Flanagan Boy’s Home. Ann became a born again Christian in the early 1960’s. She was a devoted follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and was passionate in sharing the love of Christ and the story of salvation with everyone she met.
Ann is survived by her children Deborah Gerth, Steven Paul Bowling, Esther Weisman, John Bowling and Jack Bowling; stepson Roland E. Guidry Jr., step daughters: Dana Eckels, Ava Clary, Paula West, and Denise Guidry. Grandchildren Jarad Bowling, Lauren Bowling, Ruth Weisman Battle, Samuel Weisman, Brittany Bowling, Tiaurra Gardner, Luke Harms, Amasty Banks, Melissa Harms, multiple great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
Preceding Ann in death were her parents, her husband Roland E. Guidry, and son David Glen Bowling. Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband Roland in the Angleton cemetery.
