On Monday May 11, 2020, Steve Edward Nix, Jr., 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Rosharon, Texas with his wife at his side. He was born in Houston, Texas on November 5, 1949, to Steve and Johnnie Nix. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melinda Nix; daughter, Kimberly Garza (Julian); son, James Nix (Christine); grandchildren, Britteny Gomez (Ormando), Dylan Garza, Christopher Thurston, Alexander Nix, Mitchell Garza, and Jillian Garza; great grandchildren, Ormando Gomez III and Serenity Gomez; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Johnnie Nix; sisters, Billie Jo Redinger and Carmen Inge; and brother, Wendell Nix. He was a graduate of Milby High School (1968), where he made lifelong friends. He loved watching his grandchildren in all of their activities. He also loved fishing, especially his yearly trip with his Hunton Distribution cowokers and customers to Hackberry, Louisiana. He had a deep love for his family and friends. His family will deeply miss him. A memorial service will be held at Palms Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, the number of attendees will be limited and social distancing will be in effect.
