In Loving Memory

Of

Susan Lorraine Cadenhead

May 12, 1948 ~ February 19, 2024

Susan Lorraine Cadenhead, a devoted wife of 51 years, loving mother to Debbie, Mike, Nikki, and Shawn, adored grandma to ten grandkids, and great-grandma to three, bid farewell to this world from the comfort of her home on February 19, 2024. Born in the sunny city of Ventura, California on May 12, 1948, to Shirley Mason and William Pinheiro, Sue was a force to be reckoned with.

Sue was a woman of remarkable strength and the resilience of a cat with nine lives, overcoming numerous hardships throughout her life with unwavering determination and grace. A hard worker and savvy businesswoman, she was the proud proprietor of Susie’s Corner, the only convenience store known to double as a therapy session hotspot, thanks to Sue's uncanny ability to offer advice, solicited or not.

Those who knew Sue admired her willingness to speak her mind, even if it sometimes caused embarrassment to her loved ones in the process. Yet, behind her frankness was a heart of gold, always ready to offer sage advice and unwavering support for those in need.

Sue's love for games of chance, from bingo nights that felt like epic adventures to the pull of slot machines and the dreamful play of lottery tickets, was another aspect of her zest for life. These moments of play were not just about the thrill of the win but about the joy of participating, the laughter shared with friends, and the stories that would later be told.

Sue had a passion for both decorating and gardening, pouring her creativity and love into every project she undertook. She found joy in caring for others, always putting their needs above her own. Her dogs held a special place in her heart. They, along with the rest of us, are feeling the loss deeply.

Above all, Sue cherished her role as a devoted wife to her husband, Doug. Her love and dedication to him were unparalleled, serving as a shining example of commitment and partnership.

Sue's legacy? A mix of love, laughter, and the kind of strength that inspires you to get back up, no matter how many times life knocks you down.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Sue’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. In honoring Sue's memory, we are reminded to embrace life's challenges with her indomitable spirit, to care deeply for our loved ones, and to find joy in the simple pleasures—be it through a game of bingo, a quiet moment in the garden, or the love of a loyal pet.
