Sybil Irene Kay Sybil Irene Kay was born in Sweeny, Texas, on December 18, 1917, and passed from this earth into the arm of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 4, 2013. Sybil was a loving, caring, giving and precious mother who loved her family dearly, and will be missed by all. She loved to go fishing with relatives and friends, enjoyed working in her flower beds and canning vegetables from her garden. Sybil was a member of Second Baptist Church in Angleton. She was a homemaker and later worked in food services at Monsanto and other establishments until she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram Lon and Cora Lee (Davis) Holmes; husband, William Vernon Kay; daughter, Cora Lee Svetlik; son, Wayne Douglas Kay; one brother, six sisters, and one great-grandson. She is survived by daughters, Minnie Fay Allen of Friendswood; Marsha Harper of Angleton; son, John Kay (Gaye) of Iola, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Carlisle of Katy. She has eleven grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Services will be at Second Baptist Church, Angleton, Texas with visitation from 12:00-1:00pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. The funeral will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Chris Moore officiating and with grandson, Scott Kay assisting. Graveside services will follow at Angleton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Palms Funeral Home, Angleton, Texas. The family wishes to thank the staff at Country Village for their loving care and kindness.
