Thorald Edward 'Ed' Bottorf

Thorald "Ed" Edward Bottorf, 68, of Houston passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018. Ed was born August 30, 1949 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to Thorald and Mildred Bottorf. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pamela Bottorf and his four daughters; Trish (Robert) Boyd of Wimberly, Texas, Tammy (Juan) Maugans-Estrada of Pearland, Dee (Darrell) Carder of Pearland, and Tara (Brent) Scantlin of Houston. Grandchildren; Caleb & Shelby Boyd of Wimberly, Charlie & Tommy Maugans, Ben Mixon of Pearland, Samantha & Allix Carder of Pearland, and Chase Roberts of Houston. Ed is also survived by his siblings; Linette (Carl) Thuran, Mary (Robert) Steinbacker, Evelyn (Larry) Rhine, and many nieces and nephews. Ed attened Bald Eagle Nittany High School. He served 9 years for his country in the U.S. Marines and fought in Vietnam during 1969 - 1970. After leaving the Marines, he worked at Hammer Mill, Piper, Wool Rich, Bryan Mound SPR, Tank Consultants INC, and after retirement he worked for Walmart. He loved spending his time playing golf and playing cards. Ed was an extraordinary man. He was a hard worker who was kind, dependable, humble, and honorable with impeccable integrity. He will be deeply missed and his memory will be forever cherished. Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Leo Wleczyk officiating; visitation will be from 10-11:00a.m. In lieu of floral remembrances the family requests donations may be sent to St. Vincent De Paul, of St. Michael's in Mr. Bottorf's name. Pallbearers will be Darrell Carder, Brent Scantlin, Chase Roberts, Charlie Maugans, Tommy Maugans, and Brad Boston.
