Vanessa Taylor, born on March 22, 1961, in Borger, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, surrounded by her cherished memories and the love of her family.

She is survived by her beloved nieces, Leslie Fishbeck (husband, Marcus), and Lindsay Johnson (husband, Kyle), her nephew, Ryan Johnson, great-nephews: Easton Fishbeck, and Asher Newton. Vanessa is also survived by her great- nieces Avery Fishbeck, Aubrye Bull, Maesyn Newton, and Kylar Chancey, who will forever remember her vibrant spirit and joyful laughter. Vanessa was known for her immense love of animals, particularly her cats and dogs, and her infectious sense of humor that could brighten any room. She had a unique ability to bring smiles and laughter to all who knew her. The water was her playground, whether boating, swimming, or relaxing on the beach, she found immense joy in nature's embrace. Vanessa cherished the simple pleasures of looking for sand dollars and seashells, and her passion for the outdoors extended to her beloved garden, where she nurtured an array of plants.

A family-oriented person, Vanessa deeply valued her relationships, hosting memorable dinner parties, especially the much-loved Nelson and Vanessa’s "Friday Night Feast" with her neighbors. She was an enthusiastic participant in her community, organizing the annual Boat Parade for many years and actively involved in "Friends of The River San Bernard," where she and her former husband, Nelson Taylor, were honored with the title "Most Patriotic" in 2013.

A remarkable student, Vanessa excelled throughout her education, ranking at the top of her high school class. Her leadership skills shone as a member of the student council and National Honor Society, complementing her spirited participation as a cheerleader and baton twirler and an OEA member.

A memorial service will take place at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 am.

In honoring Vanessa's memory, her family requests that those who loved her reflect on the smiles and laughter she gifted to everyone she met, keeping her spirit alive in their hearts.
