Virginia Ruth Wollam

Virginia Ruth Wollam, 83 of Danbury passed away Monday, May 21, 2012. Virginia was born September 12, 1928 in East Bernard, Texas to William and Louise (Gabler) Behrens. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Angleton where she served with the United Methodist Women. Virginia worked for the Brazoria County Clerk's Election Division. She served on many committees through out the years. Virginia was on the Danbury School Board as a member and secretary, Drainage District #8 Secretary, PTA President, Brazoria Actions Committee, a member of Brazoria County Fair Association, Danbury Cemetery Association and numerous other activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Wollam; infant daughter, Beverly Wollam; son, Allen Wollam; parents; brothers, Monroe Behrens, William Behrens and Hugh Behrens; sisters, Mildred Kubena and Martha Demel, and many beloved sister and brother-in-laws. Survivors include her son, Lloyd Wollam and wife, Angela of Danbury; daughter, Patricia Perk and husband, Vincent of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, Laura Hicks of Danbury, Natalie Peltier and husband, Chase of Danbury, Austin Perk of Pearland and Taylor Perk of Austin; great grandchildren, Colby Nall and Emily Peltier; brother-in-law, Benny Wollam of Angleton; sister-in-laws, Claudine Spoor Of Angleton, Areta Nell Bell of West Columbia and May Wollam of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Angleton on Thursday, May 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Danbury Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W.R. Wollam, Donnie Bulanek, Bobby Garrett, Kevin Fillip, Joe Fillip and Jacko Garrett. In lieu of normal remembrances, donations can be made to the First Untied Methodist Church of Angleton or the Alzheimer's Association of America. The family wishes to thank the staff of Elmcroft/ Hearthstone for their loving care.
