Walter J. Murphy, Jr. Funeral services for Walter J. Murphy, Jr., 63 of Angleton will be held at 10:00am Saturday at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Danbury. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Friday at Palms Funeral Home with a Rosary service being held at 7:00pm that evening. Walter was born April 9, 1951 in San Antonio to Walter J. and Mary Jane Murphy, Sr. and passed away Sunday July 13, 2014 in Houston. Walter was Operating Officer of Clute Pawn and Jewelry and Valasco Pawn & Jewelry and a founding board member of the Texas Association of Pawn Brokers. Walter an avid sportsman enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and hunting. He was married to June Blodgett May 13, 1978 in Belton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Tim Murphy and is survived by his wife, June of Angleton, daughter Danielle Graham and husband Jesse of Angleton, grandchildren, Dakota Wright, Cheyenne Wright both of Angleton, brothers, Phil Murphy (Dena) of Rockport, Dan Murphy (Dusty) of Wimberley, sisters, Tricia Murphy (Mary) of Austin, Suzy Keepers (Rick) of Lake Hills, sister-in-law, Maureen Murphy of Rockport and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Will Murphy, Rusty Keepers, Randy Keepers, Timothy Crane, Tim Murphy, Phillip Murphy, and Matt Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Keepers, Jesse Graham, Jr., Dan Murphy, Phillip Murphy, and Tom Crane.
