Wanda May Gage Buchanan, 82, joined her husband Herbert Earl "Buck" Buchanan in the presence of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday morning, November 15, 2018 at 1:01 a.m. in Galveston, TX surrounded by her loving family. Wanda was born on March 15, 1936 in Fort Worth, TX to George Newton Gage and Daisy Rene Alford. She graduated from Pasadena High School and was very proud of attending the University of Houston. In her early 20s Wanda worked as a civilian for the Army in Hampton, VA and was very proud to have married a U.S. Marine. She married the love of her life, Buck, on December 28, 1957 in Almeda Genoa, TX. Wanda and Buck moved to Angleton, TX in 1962, then to their 10 acre farm on the outskirts of town in 1966 where they lived until their deaths. Throughout her life Wanda was many things to many people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, Sunday School teacher, and advocate. Wanda was well known for her baking and catering business and was very affectionately called "The Cake Lady." One thing that could not be denied is that she really liked to talk…to anyone! She enjoyed sharing her talents of cooking, painting, farming and horticulture, telling Bible stories, and spending lots of time with her grandchildren. She was a strong woman in every sense of the word. Wanda loved her family above all else on this earth.
