Funeral services for William Walter Batterton, Jr., 84, of Angleton will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Palms Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery in West Columbia. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm till service time on Saturday at Palms Funeral Home. William was born April 20, 1930 in Brady, TX to Sallie Mae Ransome and William Walter Batterton, Sr. and passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Rosenberg, TX. William, an Angleton resident since 1984, served in the US Navy during the Korean War, was a member of Northway Baptist Church in Angleton, member of VFW, American Legion, Elks, Eagles and volunteered at Angleton-Danbury Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tayna Batterton and son, Chad Batterton. Survivors include his son, Cody Batterton of Ventura, CA, daughter, Wendy Batterton Gaylor and husband, Bryan of Woodstock GA, sisters, Betty Dossey and husband Joe of Richmond, TX, Dorothy Hunnell of California, Linda West of Houston, TX, Peggy Topp of Nacogdoches, TX, grandchildren, Christian Gaylor, Bradley Gaylor, Drew Gaylor, nieces, Tina Wood of Houston, TX, Pamela Watson of Nacogdoches, TX, Sylvia Gustafson of California, several great nieces and nephews and dear friend, Helen Stevens.
