Willie Roberson Jr.

On the morning of December 24, 2012, Willie Roberson, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Willie Roberson, Jr. was born on February 13, 1930, in Mexia, Texas, to Willie Lee Roberson and Callie Rikard Roberson. Willie was a faithful member of Greater Heights Baptist Fellowship. He served this Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a life time member of the Angleton VFW Post 10378. He was retired from the Texas Department of Highways and Transportation, having worked there for 36 years. He loved fishing, camping in his RV, and carpentry. After retirement he and his wife joined Texas Camper's on Mission. They spent many weeks each year working and building at Church camps and helping to build churches. When Willie was at home you could fine him most morning playing dominoes at the City Drug with John & Patrick Fuchs and all the other dominoe player's Willie Roberson was preceded in death by his parents Willie &Callie Roberson and infant son, Darryle Roberson He is survived by his wife of 57 years, LaNell Barrington Roberson. Two sons, Donald Ray Roberson & wife Cindy, and Gerald Lee Roberson and wife Jody, all of Angleton. One brother, JB Roberson and wife Connie, of Richwood, TX. Three Grandchildren, Brittney Roberson Darbonne and husband Jude, of Houston, TX. Darryl Roberson of Angleton and Rebecca Roberson of Angleton. Four great grand children, Ethan, Jackson, Jimmy, and Jazlin. And many other relatives and friends. Services for Willie Roberson will be held at Palms Funeral Home Chapel in Angleton, TX. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held Thursday December 27, 2012 from 6 - 8 pm. Interment will follow the service at Restwood Memorial Park, in Lake Jackson, TX.
