Wilma Scott

June 6, 1929 — July 16, 2015

Wilma Elizabeth Scott went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, On July 16, 2015. She was born to Josephine (Josi) Sciavolino on June 6th, 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was adopted as an infant by William and Clara Thorstenson and raised in Hoboken graduating in 1946. She met the love of her life, Eloy Scott, while setting on a bench in New York Central Park and they were married October 12, 1947. The newlywed couple moved to Louisiana where they jointly owned and operated "Scott's Bait Camp" on Lake Bistenau with Eloy's brother and his wife. They welcomed three of their children into their lives during this period before moving to Texas in 1954. After settling in Texas, they welcomed their fourth and final child. Wilma worked for the State of Texas, Brazoria Counting Division of Child Welfare until her retirement in 1987. Wilma's greatest joys were caring for and traveling with her husband and tending to (specifically cooking) for her children, grandchildren and great grand children. Wilma was a member of Second Baptist Church in Angleton for over fifty years where she taught children's Sunday school early on and later worked in the office as a volunteer. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Garret Conoway and her beloved husband of 64 years. She is survived by her four children Steve Scott (Rhonda) Troup TX, Linda Svoboda (John) Angleton, James Scott (Nancy) Lake Jackson and Wade Scott of Angleton along with twelve grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished dearly. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Jason Scott, Jody Scott, Justin Conoway, Toby Scott, Vincent Scott and Kyler Scott. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Monday July 20, 2015 at 2nd Baptist Church of Angleton with Pastor Chris Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.
