W.R. "Dub" Wollam Jr.

W.R. "Dub" Wollam, Jr., age 80, of Danbury, Texas passed away Monday, July 20, 2020. W.R. was born on July 7, 1940 in Alvin, Texas, to Louise & W. R. "Bill" Wollam, Sr. He was a Veteran of the US Army. He worked in the Mag Cells at Dow Chemical for 33 years before retiring and going on to work 16 years for the Danbury Independent School District. He married Beverly Easterling and together they raised their two sons, Russell and Justin. W.R. loved to go dancing whenever he got the chance, hunting at the lease, working on cars in his younger days, drinking coffee, and telling stories at Filipp's Caf every day he could. W.R. is preceded in death by his parents and son, Police Officer Justin Todd Wollam. W.R. is survived by his wife Beverly Wollam of 59 years, son Russell Wollam and wife Wendy; brother David Lee Wollam and wife Betty, sister Genevieve Kamer; daughter-in-law, Kristy Wollam Hampton; grandchildren Tyler Wollam, Melanie Eighme & husband Zach, Kristin Wollam and numerous family and friends. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020 with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. at Danbury Baptist Church with Pastor David Catoe officiating. Burial will follow at the Danbury Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Wollam, Zach Eighme, Mark Mager, David Hatthorn, Bo Dilleshaw, and Jonathan Geering. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of his men's Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Danbury Volunteer Fire Dept. or Danbury Baptist Church The Family would like to give a Special Thank you to Dr. Carpenter, Dr. Pant, and IPH Hospice for their comfort & dedication to W.R and the family during this time.
